AI automation and agentic AI for Canadian businesses

Dassjay Labs designs, builds and runs business process automation, AI agents, RAG document search and private LLM systems for teams across Canada. We also run two AI products of our own, so we build to production standards, not demo standards.

Services

AI services, from first workflow to production system

Every engagement ends in working software that your team uses. Start with one process or a full AI programme.

Built and run by Dassjay Labs

Our own AI products, in production

Running our own products means we deal with the same problems our clients do: data pipelines, evaluation, cost, security, SEO and customer support. Here is what they look like.

Agentic document intelligence for regulated teams

Akurion.ai

Akurion reads your files, plans its own searches and cites the page behind every statement, so regulated teams and the agents they build get governed answers they can verify.

  • Agent mode that plans multi-step searches across a project's documents and the web
  • Graph RAG: entities and relationships extracted so answers can follow links between documents
  • Page-level citations on every statement, with answer-quality evaluation built in
  • Vector store management, enrichment and memory across conversations
Why RAG demos break on real documents, and how Akurion handles itNarrated explainer that starts with why RAG prototypes fail on large, changing document sets, then shows Akurion product screens: connectors, auto-generated metadata keys, chat filters, the Graph RAG relationship map, cited source pages opened in chat and the MCP playground.

Documents shown in the Akurion videos are fictional sample data.

SEC filings intelligence for investors

The Filing Fool

Every insider filing, congressional trade, fund position change and federal contract on one page per company, with each dollar sized against the company's own revenue or market cap.

  • Continuous ingestion pipelines over SEC EDGAR, congressional disclosures, lobbying records and federal contract awards
  • Entity resolution linking insiders, funds, members of Congress and companies across sources
  • A per-ticker timeline that correlates every event with price and sizes it against revenue or market cap
  • Signals ranked by strength: fund conviction, cross-source agreement, unusual insider clusters and industry pulse
Insider Scanner: open-market insider buying and sellingNarrated walkthrough of the Insider Scanner, which ranks open-market buys and sells by officers and directors by dollar value, filtered by company size and time window. Each trade links to its Form 4, and pre-planned 10b5-1 trades are left out.

The Filing Fool is not investment advice. Every figure comes from public filings.

Inside Akurion

Agentic RAG features, in eight seconds each

Short loops of real product moments: agent mode, graph RAG, memory, MCP, SSO and more.

Agent mode: a planned search with every claim citedA question about vendor spend is asked inside one file, the agent's search steps appear, and the answer streams in with a citation on every line.
Chat commands and the answer APITyping @fileName in the chat composer scopes a question to one file, then the same question is sent to the POST /api/v1/queries/answer endpoint, which returns a cited JSON answer.
Chat history: find and continue any threadThe threads panel, grouped by day, is searched for "spend", an older thread reopens with its earlier answer, and a follow-up question gets a new cited answer.
Credit usage and answer feedback dashboardShort silent loop of the credit usage page: totals, the weekly credit trend, credits by operation, weekly thumbs-up and thumbs-down feedback, and remaining credits.
Rating answers and reviewing feedbackA cited answer gets a thumbs-up and a short note, then the Insights page shows the feedback count and positive rate update and the note at the top of recent feedback.
Graph RAG: linking names across documentsThe same supplier and person are highlighted across a contract, a purchase order and an invoice, linked into a relationship map, and a question is answered by following those links with citations.

How we work

Small enough to move fast. Serious enough to ship cleanly.

Senior engineers do the work, from the first workshop to the production release. You get working software on your own data early, and clear acceptance criteria at every phase.

Frequently asked questions

What does Dassjay Labs do?

Dassjay Labs Corp is a Canadian AI consultancy and product studio. We design and build business process automation, agentic AI systems, RAG and document AI, private LLM deployments and AI-powered web and mobile products, and we run our own products, The Filing Fool and Akurion.ai.

Where are you located and which areas do you serve?

We are based in Kitchener, Ontario, in Waterloo Region, and work with clients across Canada, including Toronto, the GTA, Ottawa, Vancouver, Calgary and Montreal, as well as the US and internationally. Most work is delivered remotely, with on-site workshops in Ontario when useful.

How does an engagement usually start?

With a short call about the process or product you have in mind. We usually recommend starting with our AI Readiness Assessment: two weeks, a fixed $2,500 CAD plus applicable taxes, ending in a scored, costed plan. The fee is fully credited toward a build that starts within 90 days, and you see working software on your own data before committing to a larger rollout.

How do you handle confidential data?

We sign NDAs, use the minimum data needed, and can work entirely inside your cloud tenancy or on-premises with open-weight models, so sensitive data never goes to a third-party AI service.

Do you work with small businesses or only enterprises?

Both. Smaller teams often start with one automation that pays back quickly. Larger organizations usually start with a strategy and prioritization phase across departments.

Tell us about the process you want to automate.

A 30-minute call is enough to tell whether AI is a fit, what a first project would look like and what it would take to run it in production.
